Airbud: GoldenGun Retriever Shoots Hunter Dude with Shotgun

"(CBS)  A hunter is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being shot by his dog on Saturday.

The Merced County Sheriff's Department said the 53-year-old man was hunting with a partner off Highway 152 near Los Banos when he set down his shotgun to retrieve his decoy ducks.

The shotgun was loaded but the safety was on, according to authorities.

The victim was about 15 yards away, retrieving his decoys, when his female black Labrador retriever stepped on the gun.

Authorities said the dog disengaged the safety and hit the trigger at the same time, firing a shell with #2 shot. The man was struck in on the left side of his upper back.

The man was treated and released at the hospital the same day. "

So much for the saying, "Dog's are a man's best friend" huh?  This dog went complete Meet the Parents style on this dude and used his disposable thumbs to rip a shotty at his owner! Since the man faces non-life threatening injuries, I think I have to safely side with the dog in this situation.  It's common knowledge that Black Labs are deadly from close range and clearly the hunter must have tried to show up this dog earlier in the day, which is most likely what set the pup off.  So goes the old saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" because clearly this dog has potential to work his way up the ranks, join the special ops, and blaze the enemy up with a fresh cut RCP90.  Pup City in the Hizzy!
