Message to LeBron: Get a Ring or Be Quiet

LeBron James is on pace to claim his second scoring title after topping the league in 2007-08, when he was a year removed from leading the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals.

Given the choice of either, though, James was emphatic in claiming he could win the scoring championship at will.

But it's the team titles that hold the key, he said.

"It's not important to me at all. I mean right now our team is in a position to try to clinch throughout the whole playoffs," James said of home-court advantage Thursday in San Antonio, where the Cavaliers play the Spurs on Friday night. "That's what position we're in right now. If we can do that, that will be more important than a scoring title. I mean, individual accolades take care of [themselves]."

"If I really wanted to," James said, "if I really wanted to be the scoring [champion] every single year -- every single year -- I could really do it. But it doesn't matter."

I wish LeBron would just shut up. Really, just shut up. “If I really wanted to be the scoring champion every single year, I could really do it.” You know what LeBron? If Kobe Bryant really wanted to, he could too. So could Kevin Durant. So could Carmelo Anthony. Great players sacrifice their own stats for the benefit of their team. You are not the only one who does it. So just shut your mouth, play basketball, and prepare to choke away the playoffs once again. We already have every single media member telling us how great you are, we don’t need to hear it from you too.

I also want to propose a motion to eliminate the nickname “King James.” Generally, kings wear lots of jewelry, and last time I checked, LeBron didn’t have any. So, once again: LeBron, get a ring or be quiet.

SHUT UP! Lebron's the best player in the league! He's not showing off. It's true. He could average a triple double if he wanted to. But he doesn't he wants to win. So shut up your obviously a Kobe fan who can't understand that Lebron's the new best player. If he put Lebron on the Lakers and took Kobe away they would win a champioship every year.

I wouldn't say I'm a Kobe fan. "Fan" isn’t the right word, because I hate both Kobe and LeBron. I would say that I am a Kobe "supporter" in the Kobe vs. LeBron debate (which contrary to popular belief isn't a debate at all. Kobe's the man hands down). Sure, in a one-on-one game right now, you'd probably take LeBron over Kobe. But if you can pick one player to take the biggest shot in the biggest game, you’re giving the ball to Kobe hands down. He’s proven himself time and time again. LeBron hasn’t quite gotten there yet. Most importantly, Kobe’s got 4 rings to LeBron’s zero. LeBron says he sacrifices his stats to help his team win, but he hasn’t won shit yet. At least not anything that matters. No ring, no king. (And don’t give me the bullshit about how Kobe always had Shaq. There hasn’t been a team out there that has won a championship with only 1 player. Jordan had Pippen. The Celtics and Lakers always had multiple Hall of Fame caliber players).

You also said LeBron “could average a triple double if he wanted to. But he doesn’t he wants to win.” That’s just a foolish statement. How could a few more rebounds and a few more assists a game hurt his team? It’s also foolish to say if you put LeBron on the Lakers they would win every year. You mean, kinda like how Kobe’s done it? The Lakers have won 4 of the last 10 championships, and been to 2 more in that span.

Bottom line is: Kobe’s better. I’m not saying LeBron can’t overtake him someday, but for right now, it’s not even an argument. Get a ring or be quiet.
